April H. Best is a dedicated IT educator, mentor, and leader with over a decade of experience in higher education. As the Information Technology Program Chair and Instructor at Lenoir Community College, she is committed to equipping students with the technical skills and real-world knowledge needed to succeed in the ever-evolving field of IT.With expertise in various software applications and a Microsoft Office Specialist certification, April integrates hands-on learning experiences into her curriculum. She is certified in IC3 Digital Literacy (GS6 Level 1), AWS Academy Cloud Foundations, AWS Academy Educator, and CCNA: Introduction to Networks.Beyond the classroom, she is passionate about mentorship and expanding access to IT education. She created IT Looks Like Me, an initiative designed to introduce middle school students—especially young girls—to the many opportunities in IT. Her collaboration with schools and organizations continues to inspire the next generation of technology professionals.April’s leadership and dedication to education make her a driving force in shaping the future of IT learning and workforce development.
