Dr. Deanne Cranford-Wesley is the Director of Cybersecurity Programs at North Carolina Central University (NCCU); she is also the Point of Contact for the Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, and she oversees the innovative cybersecurity lab at NCCU. Dr. Cranford- Wesley is also a Consultant for the National Cybersecurity Education Center. She is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Information System Department in the School of BusinessDr. Cranford -Wesley was honored for her outreach efforts in cybersecurity by the CAE Community in April 2022; and was named Innovator of the Year by E-Council in December 2020. She is a Cybersecurity Professional and has appeared as a subject matter expert on WRAL, Fox8 and Time Warner News discussing Innovations in Cybersecurity, cyber-attacks, and ransomware. Dr. Cranford-Wesley has vast experience in curriculum design, grant writing, and program evaluation. She is also a published author. Dr. Cranford-Wesley possesses a PhD in Education Leadership. Furthermore, she has obtained the following certifications: IC3, Security +, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Cisco Certified Instructor (CCAI) during her career journey.
