About me
Dr. Naveed Zaman is a Professor of Mathematics and Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at West Virginia State University (WVSU). He has extensive experience in higher education administration, academic program development, and strategic planning. He has spearheaded the development of transformative undergraduate programs in Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Engineering, as well as a graduate program in Computer Science. His collaborative efforts include partnerships with academic institutions, industries, and organizations, including NASA, IBM, and the USDA. His leadership has strengthened accreditation efforts, enhanced program quality, and advanced research opportunities for students and faculty. A champion of shared governance and innovation, Dr. Zaman is committed to academic excellence, student success, and preparing graduates to meet the demands of a competitive workforce. He is a PI or co-PI on multiple cybersecurity grants, which were instrumental in the development of the WVSU Cybersecurity Innovation Center.
